Reflection
I chose to do a painting as my art medium of choice because i wanted to try something new. I am a huge perfectionist and would be way more comfortable doing a photography medium because I would have full control of my piece. When painting, one cannot force paint to do exactly what you wish. You have to go with what that paint wants, not what you want. After playing it safe with my artwork for the beginning of this year, I decided to take a chance and try something new. Above is the result.
I used art elements and principles to make my piece of work special and finished. I used unity with my background to my person so that it would be a cohesive piece and work together. I used color to make the different foods in the body clear on what they are, and value to make it more realistic. I used many other art elements and principles to make my idea come off clearly and for the audience to understand what I was trying to do. If I hadn't used texture or color, it would be extremely hard for my audience to understand what they saw before them. Thanks to the elements and principles that didn't happen.
If I had the option of completely redoing this project over again, the only thing I would change would be the amount of detail. I wouldn't change my idea at all because I feel that people all ready understand what I'm trying to say. The only part in which I would consider changing would be the actual paint. The brand was fine, but how and where I applied it didn't connect with my vision. I wish I had added more detail and more value so the ending piece would be more realistic (As realistic as you can get from a person made of food).
